The “STOP Abortion!” international pro-life campaign, timed to coincide with the International Children’s Day (June 1, 2011), has been carried out in Russia and the near abroad1.
Among a number of anti-abortion actions, there were some live TV and radio programs, many publications in the Internet and print media, rallies, pickets, lighting candles in memory of unborn babies, etc.
Pro-life advocates from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, UK, USA, and some other countries took part in the campaign.
This year, the Russian pro-life community placed a special emphasis on the car rally for protection of unborn children (against abortion). Despite some opposition from the Moscow police2, the rally has successfully taken place in several towns of Russia and Belarus.
In Moscow, it was already the 3rd pro-life car rally, with 36 cars and 1 motorcycle participated.
